November is a month for giving thanks. Whether you plan to host Thanksgiving in your home, or just want to celebrate the harvest season, here are some fun ideas of ways you can decorate your home to honor the season and Thanksgiving holiday.
Dress up your front door with a unique wreath. The Thanksgiving wreath featured here was made by Cornelius entrepreneur and artist, Tiffany Newcomb. Her business, Signs by Tiff, offers this versatile wreath which also converts to a witch at Halloween and an elf for winter.
Design a dessert buffet – Don’t leave your guests guessing about your sweet treats. Utilizing a side board or your kitchen countertop, showcase your desserts with fun and creative labels. Papaya Papers in Cornelius offers a wide array of unique stationery to accommodate this task.
A Casual centerpiece: Think fresh sunflowers in a pitcher or fall squash and gourds in an attractive painted ceramic bowl.
Decorate your mantle: Inspired by a photo on Pinterest, I used six small pumpkins and painted the letters from the word “THANKS” on each pumpkin. I then weaved in fall leaf garland from a craft store to create a fall mantle display.
Formal Dining Room Tablescape: Put your own spin on the Thanksgiving table. Whether it is rustic, contemporary or antique traditional, there are many accessories available to tailor the look you are trying to achieve. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. I’ve seen centerpieces made from an old tree trunk, candles, or my favorite – a rustic metal turkey. Incorporate linens, candles, chargers, gourds or pumpkins to create a fun and unique look that is your own.
With so many opportunities to welcome the beautiful fall colors into your home; don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate the season!
