Neutral Paint Colors for Staging your House

I have fielded several calls over the last month from real estate agents that are helping their clients prepare their house for market.   The most common question asked pertains to neutral paint color recommendations.  Lately I have been recommending Sherwin-Williams Kilim Beige (SW 6106).  Many shades of beige will have either a yellowing affect or a peachy hue to it.  I find Kilim Beige to be a nice clean crisp, neutral shade that looks nice with varying types of flooring and furnishings.  If you’re worried about your house being too bland, don’t worry because you can always bring in movable color via textiles such as toss pillows, area rugs, and throws or through the use of wall art.

Sellers may have varying shades of blue, green, or yellow on their walls.  These colors can also be considered neutral depending on the shade.  If you’re not sure the colors are okay, consult with an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP).  A home staging consultation is very affordable and allows the seller to perform much of the work on their own based on the ASP’s recommendations.

Additional shades we like include Sherwin Williams Sea Salt (SW 6204, great for achieving that spa look in the bath) and Jersey Cream (SW 6379, a soft creamy yellow).  Lowes Creative Ideas and Laura Ashley Valspar paint, also at Lowes, have many great colors in their palettes as well!

Our paint color consultations run $35-$50 for up to five areas of your home.  Additional consulting services are available.  Visit http://www.centerpiecehomestaging.com to schedule an appointment today!
